The Northern Pass 2025: Riding Through Muskoka to Conquer Cancer

On Saturday, August 9, 2025, the scenic roads of Muskoka came alive with hundreds of cyclists united for one mission — to raise funds for life-saving cancer research at the Princess Margaret Cancer Centre. The Northern Pass 2025 wasn’t just a ride; it was a celebration of hope, resilience, and the power of community.I am grateful to have been part of this incredible event, cycling alongside friends, teammates, and strangers-turned-allies, all committed to making a difference. A heartfelt thank you goes to everyone on our team and to every rider who participated. I’m already looking forward to seeing you again in 2026.

A Ride Through the Heart of Cottage Country

Starting at the Bracebridge Sportsplex, the Northern Pass took riders along some of the most picturesque routes in Muskoka. From winding lakefront roads to shaded forest paths, every turn offered breathtaking views — a reminder of why Muskoka is one of Canada’s most treasured regions. Whether you were cycling past shimmering lakes or up challenging hills, each pedal stroke carried deeper meaning: every kilometre brought us closer to conquering cancer.

Why the Northern Pass Matters

Cancer impacts every community, and events like the Northern Pass directly fund research, treatment innovation, and patient care at Princess Margaret — one of the top five cancer research centres in the world.
  • Impactful Giving: At least 70% of the funds raised go directly to cancer research — well above the industry average for fundraising events.
  • Ambassador Recognition: Riders who raise $2,000 or more receive special recognition, but every single donation, no matter the amount, fuels hope.

The Benefits of Giving Back

Supporting causes like the Northern Pass doesn’t just benefit cancer research — it transforms lives, including those of donors and participants. For Your Health:

  • Giving boosts mood, reduces stress, and even strengthens your immune system.
  • Volunteering and charitable involvement are linked to longer life expectancy.
For Your Community:
  • Your contribution builds stronger bonds, inspires others, and leaves a lasting legacy.
  • You become part of a network united for a common goal — in this case, a future free from cancer.
For Your Finances:
  • Donations to registered charities may provide tax benefits, making your generosity go even further.

Looking Ahead to Northern Pass 2026

If you’ve ever considered participating in a charitable event, this is your sign to get involved. Whether you ride, volunteer, or donate, you’ll be part of something bigger — a movement of compassion, courage, and commitment to finding a cure.I invite you to join me in 2026 as we once again ride through the beauty of Muskoka, united in purpose and powered by hope.
